  5. This is second release of ASL Dhrystone, Macintosh Dhrystone Benchmark.
  6. I've ported sources to new compiler. (THINK C 5.0.1 and MPW-C 3.2)

  8. Here is dhrystone benchmark result on my macintosh.

  10. Hardware: Macintosh IIfx (68030 40MHz)
  11. Software: GomTalk 7  (System 7.0 with KanjiTalk 6.0.7)
  12.  
  13. ASL Dhrystone 2.1    (THINK C 16bit int version)      : 11920.5 dhrystones/sec
  14. ASL Dhrystone 2.1/32 (THINK C 32bit int version)      :  7964.6 dhrystones/sec
  15. dhrystone.mpw        (MPW-C 3.2 32bit int + opt full) : 10285.7 dhrystones/sec
  16.  
  17. I turned off 'Automatic Register Assignment' option off in THINK C
  18. option menu to increase performance. ASL Dhrystone 2.1/32 must turn on
  19. '4-byte ints' option. I added '-opt full' option in MPW version.

  21. THINK C 16bit int is the fastest, MPW-C 3.2 w/opt full is second,
  22. THINK C 32bit int is the worst case. So we should use 16bit int in THINK C.

  24. Please tell me if you have found the best result. (i.e., turn on/off options)
  25. I am also intereted in Quadra Dhrystone Benchmark.
